There are now two full mp3's from the latest album "Left to burn" available in the sounds section.

THE RECORDING IS FINISHED! 2007-06-27

Finally!!! The recording of the new album, "Left to burn", is finished. The final mixes are done and it was mastered this past weekend.
The finished product will now be shipped to the printers by the end of this week.
So, this means that the cd will "hit the streets" in a mere couple of weeks. More to come...

JOHAN IS A FATHER 2007-05-07

Johan's girlfriend Sara gave birth to a healthy baby boy today. We wish the new parents and the little toddler all the best. They have not yet chosen a name for the little one so send any suggestions to info@salvaband.com

UPDATE FROM PER MALMBERG 2007-05-02

"Dear friends of Salva,

I feel this is long overdue....
The three years that have passed since the release of our debut album "A handful of earth" have been filled with turbulence to say the least.
For me personally there have been two crashed relationships, where the end of the latter one got me pretty hard, resigning from my former day job to work for another company which always takes a lot of time and energy and as of late trying to find a new home (no real hurry here since I do have a roof over my head. I just need a bigger place).

For some of the other guys in the band there have been weddings (Lasse), the conceiving of kids (Lasse, Stefan and Johan), the bearing of kids (not so much by them though ;-)) and the arrival of kids (one for Lasse, two for Stefan...the stud).
We are now all eagerly awaiting the arrival of Johan's first born (Should be any minute now).

The only one who's been somewhat in control is Fredrik but then...he works too much in his day job. ;-)

So, what about the new music you say...
Well, to say this recording has been jinxed is to put it mildly.
We are now finishing the 4th (4th!!!) re-recording of this album (It sucks being a perfectionist, eh? ;-)).

The album will be released in June. There, I said it.

We've had so many recording hassles and scrapped versions I don't even want to go in to it. Let's just say that drums in particular is tricky business to record when you don't have an unlimited budget and Abbey Road Studios at your disposal.

Anyway, what to expect musically from the new album; 
I have lived with these songs for 2 years now and it's a bit difficult to view them objectively (when can you ever?).
I have said from the start that this album might not be quite as accessible as the first one. The main focus is still on the melodies since there is where my strengths as a composer lies (at least I like to think so...;-)).
However, it doesn't feel quite as "poppy" as "A handful of earth" (not that it was very poppy) but maybe a bit more symphonic...I don't know....

There's heavy riffing at times, lush symphonic passages, more quiet parts, some folky stuff and even a song in Swedish (!). There will be an array of new sounds from Moog's, Mellotrons and Arps since we are constantly adding new gear to our set up (we might go bankrupt in the process but....).

I personally think this album will blow the first one away but I'll leave it up to you good folks to judge for yourselves.

I would also like to take this oppurtunity to thank some people who've stood by us, offering tremendous support along the way, so here goes....

Will and the others at Caerllysi Music for patience and undying support, my Danish brothers Leo and Tonny for love and support, Anita Bhatia, the promoter from hell (and her husband Paul. Congratulations!), David Campbell for the encouraging and kind words and practically making me get this show on the road, our old webmasters Sonny and Peter, our new webmistress Xilly (;-)), Hansi and staff at Progress records (Hoping you'll pick up our second offering as well), Big Ballon Music (Hoping you'll pick up our second....)....

.....and last but not least to you, friends and supporters of Salva who will hopefully continue to enjoy our music in the future.

SALVA ON "MY SPACE"

Salva has finally put up a my space-site (www.myspace.com/salvaband) which is under construction...of course.

If you don't mind listening to somewhat scrappy demo-versions of songs there is one of "Ord ver. 2" from the upcoming album.

We are updating the website at the moment so there will probably be a lot of activity on the site during the next couple of months. All features might not be available from time to time but we hope it will not be long until the site is up and running as usual.

The new studio-album "Left to burn" is nearly finished and will be released very soon. Please keep an eye out as more info on this will follow.

There will also be new "soundclips" from the new album available shortly.
